IOI Technical Working Group

The ITWG

The ITWG (IOI Technical Working Group) takes care of the technical side of the competition – program development tools, evaluation software, hardware, networks and their security. It aims to monitor the advances in these fields, collect information relevant to the competition and develop new software if the available one is insufficient. It provides advice in technical matters to the IOI Scientific Committee, to the organizers of the present and future IOI's and also to organizers of national olympiads on request.

Infrastructure

Beside its primary goals, the ITWG also takes care of the IOI infrastructure:

Software library

We collect a library of software modules that can be used to build contest systems. The modules are published under a free software license.

Available modules:

sandbox for running of contestants' solutions in a secure and isolated environment (status: working, part of mo-eval)
grader that checks the solutions for correctness and awards points (status: working, part of mo-eval)
submit server that collects the solutions (status: working, part of mo-eval)

Planned modules:

queue manager which distributes grading between several servers (status: work in progress)
new grader that is more flexible and easier to maintain (status: design)
registration system (status: the IOI 2008 registration system will be published)
